In lieu of the Ann Arbor City Tennis Tournament in this COVID-fraught year, AAACTA and Ann Arbor Rec & Ed hosted Single-Day Showdowns for adult singles players on August 15 & 16 at Huron High School and the Chippewa Club. We had over 90 entrants who supported AAACTA's community programs as well as Food Gatherers!

This event featured 40-minute rounds of singles play for about 3 hours with all players continuing to the next round win or lose. Except for a little early morning rain on Sunday, the weather was perfect (although maybe a bit toasty for some). It was truly gratifying to see so many people enjoying a little tennis competition in such a good-spirited, yet socially distant way.

While we certainly hope that things can return to normal for the 2021 Ann Arbor City Tennis Tournament, these Showdowns were a fun replacement in this challenging time. Please go to AAACTA's Facebook page to see more action photos.
